McGrail Inquiry explored in The Times one week before main hearing begins

The Times newspaper claims former Police Commissioner Ian McGrail and Chief Minister Fabian Picardo are locked in the sort of feud usually associated with banana republics.

In its report on the inquiry, Mr McGrail's lawyer, Charles Gomez, says the weight of the state has been brought down upon his client.

But Mr Picardo says his critics are trying to bring in direct rule from London, and to portray him as a 'tin pot dictator'.
