A man who had been sick for 38 years suddenly stood up and walked at just one word from Jesus.
At the Pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem, people believed that whoever entered the water first when it was stirred would be healed.
While everyone waited for the water to move, a man who had been sick for 38 years remained there, unable to enter the pool without someone to help him.
But Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”
An extraordinary miracle took place among those who had been waiting for the water to move.
Understanding the history and background of the Pool of Bethesda reveals an even deeper meaning behind Jesus' miraculous healing.
