나의 사랑하는 책 비록 해어졌으나
There's a dear and precious Book, Tho' it's worn and faded now,
어머니의 무릎 위에 앉아서
Which recalls those happy days so long ago;
재미있게 듣던 말 그때 일을 지금도
When I stood at mother's knee, With her hand upon my brow,
내가 잊지 않고 기억합니다
And I heard her voice in gentle tones and low.

귀하고 귀하다우리 어머니가 들려주시던
Blessed Book precious Book, On thy dear old tearstained leaves I love to look
재미있게 듣던 말 이 책 중에 있으니
Thou art sweeter day by day, As I walk the narrow way
이 성경 심히 사랑합니다
That leads at last to that bright home above.

옛날 용맹스럽던 다니엘의 경험과
As she read the stories over, Of those mighty men of old,
유대 임금 다윗 왕의 역사와
Of Joseph and of Daniel and their trials;
주의 선지 엘리야 바람 타고 하늘에
Of little David bold, Who became a king at last
올라가던 일을 기억합니다
Of Satan with his many wicked wiles.

예수 세상 계실 때 많은 고난 당하고
Then she read of Jesus' love, As He blest the children dear,
십자가에 달려 죽임당한 일
How He suffered, bled and died upon the tree;
어머니가 읽으며 눈물 많이 흘린 것
Of His heavy load of care, Then she dried my flowing tears
지금까지 내가 기억합니다
With her kisses as she said it was for me.

나도 시시때때로 성경 말씀 읽으며

주의 뜻을 따라 살려 합니다
And ever in my heart His words abide.
