지난 7/25~8/4동안 제이어스는 독일 프랑크푸르트 한마음교회로 초청사역을 다녀왔습니다. ‘ECYA(유럽 크리스천 청소년 아카데미)’의 전체 일정을 함께 했습니다. ‘ECYA’는 유럽 내에 있는 청소년 크리스천들을 섬기는 디아스포라 사역으로, 이번 주제는 ‘Empowered - 두 세계의 승리자’였습니다. 10개국 이상의 다양한 국가들에서 총 150명의 청소년들과 함께 예배드렸습니다. 유럽교회의 상황으로 보면 굉장히 많은 숫자가 온 것이라고 합니다.

유럽에서 인종이 다른 이방인으로 살아가며 겪는 가장 큰 어려움은 ‘정체성의 혼란’이라고 합니다. 정체성이 확립되는 청소년 시기에 세상이 규명하는 것이 아닌, 성경이 말하는 복음적인 정체성을 확립해가는 귀한 시간이었습니다.

무엇보다 놀라웠던 것은 한마음교회가 디아스포라 사역에 재정과 스태프 섬김 등, 모두가 전적으로 뛰어들고 있다는 사실이었습니다. 교회가 든든한 기반이 되어주었기에 한 세대에게 심긴 복음의 씨앗이 건강한 토양에 뿌리내려 어떤 열매가 될지 소망하게 됩니다. 참석한 모든 청소년들이 개인의 삶을 넘어 유럽 땅과 온 열방을 섬기는 하나님 나라의 탁월한 리더들로 세워져가길 기도해주세요!

From July 25th to August 4th, J-US had the privilege of participating in a ministry invitation at Hanmaum Church in Frankfurt, Germany. We were involved in the entire schedule of the "ECYA" (European Christian Youth Academy). ECYA is a diaspora ministry serving Christian youth in Europe, and this year's theme was "Empowered - Victors in Two Worlds." We worshipped with a total of 150 youths from over 10 different countries. Considering the situation of the European churches, this is a remarkably large number.

One of the biggest challenges faced by foreigners of different races living in Europe is "identity confusion." It was a precious time for establishing a gospel-based identity, as described in the Bible, rather than one dictated by the world, during the crucial years of youth when identity is being formed.

What was particularly astonishing was the fact that Hanmaum Church is fully committed to the diaspora ministry, providing financial support and staff services. With the church as a solid foundation, we are hopeful that the seeds of the gospel sown in this generation will take root in healthy soil and bear fruit. Please pray that all the youth who attended will be raised up as exceptional leaders of God's kingdom, serving not only their own lives but also Europe and all nations.
